Synopsis:

The Sourcefire VRT is aware of vulnerabilities affecting Mozilla Firefox and CA ARCserve Backup.

Details:

CA ARCserve Backup Command Execution (CVE-2008-1329):
CA ARCserve Backup contains a programming error that may allow a remote attacker to execute commands on an affected system.

A rule to detect attacks targeting this vulnerability is included in this release and is identified with GID 1 SID 13839.

Mozilla Firefox Code Execution (CVE-2008-1236):
Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird and Seamonkey contain a programming error that may allow a remote attacker to execute code on an affected machine.

A rule to detect attacks targeting this vulnerability is included in this release and is identified with GID 1 SID 13838.
