That is a picture of one of the very first Sourcefire sensors. It is still running today and has been updated to the latest revisions of code along the way.

This month I plan on doing two things of interest to snorters.

- Release an updated version of the perl unified handling code. This release will have minor bug fixes and fall under a Sourcefire copyright. This will allow me to maintain it as part of work.

- I will release a Dynamic Preprocessor to detect Skype. The code is functional as of yesterday and I just added drop functionality today. I don’t yet know if the drops will end up killing Skype or not. I’m looking for volunteers to try it out.
