Snort Alert Monitoring (SAM)

Posted by diaskimo on June 18, 2005 22:44:40

Could anyone suggest me about:

How can I execute the sam.jar from remote client?

I have installed J2RE 1.4.2 to my computer running WinXP, and then I would like to execute remote sam.jar running Linux by HTTP service.

Is Java "web start" or sam.jnlp needed?
How can I do that?
Can someone help me?

Cheers,

diaskimo

Hi,

I think it's impossible to execute java in a distant computer. It's only possible with applet applications.
But why not execute the SAM application in the client? You can connect to a distant DB.

Regards,

Anatole

You can try a similar tool called snortcon (sourceforge project).

It is basicaly the same tool as SAM, but it is a web application.
