ACID is so slow
Posted by srobertos on October 16, 2005 10:12:07
Hi, i want to know why acid is so slow when i gonna see it in the browser. I have snort+mysql+acid installed in a pentium IV, 3.6 GHz Processor, 1GB memmory, 60GB Hard Disk, so i thought is enough the processor size...or not?. Or maybe is normal the slowness, i want to know what happen or is neccessary another thing to be faster?
Thanks. |

A couple of thoughts...
What else are you running on the machine that is running ACID? If you are running a lot of processes, your CPU could be using most of its cycles for those processes, and as a result could be causing the delay.
How fast is your network? If you are accessing ACID remotely, and the network that the machine ACID is running on is saturated, the resulting lack of bandwidth will result in ACID appearing to be slow. |

Suggest you upgrade to BASE. http://sourceforge.net/projects/secureideas
Much faster.
