mysql error No. 145 "mysql cannot open file xx.myi"
Posted by chris on August 23, 2005 02:02:59
hi guys, I was wondering if anyone else had come across this error, it started appearing in the mysql log files yesterday, a repair of the tables in question didn't seem to fix the problem, and a reload from backup of databases also appears not to have cleared this problem, at the moment the BASE console appears to work correctly and alerts seem to be being generated from snort for current network traffic, anyone have any ideas ?

Chris,
Best place to seek help with BASE related issues is on their website base.secureideas.net

Hi Joel, I'm not sure that it is a BASE problem, but I'll give them a shot, it was more of a query really to see if anyone had come across this error and found anything responsible.
The snort tables had gotten a bit messed up, but the inbuilt mysql repair options sorted the problems out, like I said in the previous posting nothing had changed on either of the servers, and I can't see anything in the servers logs that would point to what had caused the errors, thanks for the response though,
Cheers

Hi Joel, no, not a chance the database is currently running fine on the same volume, the tables somehow had gotten currupted, mysql reported that some clients had not correctly disconnected. I'm thinking to shoot the mysql people a mail, but I think they'll refer me back to the snort/BASE teams.
I was surprised, as it happend in the middle of the night so there was next to no traffic-not too much happening, it's quite strange it seems to have appeared from nowhere, thanks for the input though,
