Snort Alerts

Hi,
I am new to snort and using Windows 2k. I want to log all alerts to a log file but I am unable to do so.I could run snort in Packet logger mode.
I dont want use any database here. Just I want to log all alerts to log file.
How can I do this? Please some one tell me correct usage and settings in snort.conf to do so.
