VRT rules
Posted by Bouf on March 23, 2005 08:10:06
I just registered to gain access to VRT rules. To my surprise the VRT rules are intermingled with past/present snort contributions. Is there any way to easily identify VRT vs. contributed? |

As stated in the VRT License, VRT Certified rules are designated with SIDs of 3465 - 1,000,000, except
as otherwise noted in the license file distributed with each ruleset. You can read the full license at
http://www.snort.org/about_snort/licenses/vrt_license.html.
On a side note, all rules in the VRT Certified Rulesets have been certified by the VRT. This means every
rule has been run through our test suite of over 6.8 million tests. These rulesets are what the VRT
considers to be the highest quality ruleset available. Which resulted in Sourcefire's IS3000 receiving the
NSS Approved Award. |
