How to test snort

Hi

I'm new with snort. I isntalled snort-inline on linux router but befor I put it into real net I have to test snort. I need advise which program(s) should I use to test snort aspecially agains net reconnaissance & Dos attacks.

You can use Stick to test Snort. Stick generates attacks to test almost all signatures defined by Snort Rules Set.

stick and snot are not useful for testing snort anymore. They don't generate valid traffic.

The best way to test your snort install is to download something like metasploit and run live attack traffic.
