snort on embedded linux

Hi!
I have successfully cross-compiled snort for arm-linux platform.
However when I try to execute the binary on my device it crashes (segmenatation fault). Any ideas how to resolve this?

symptom :

Snort 0.96? Wow, that's old, something like 8 years old.
