MYSQL error

Posted by dosle on October 02, 2006 06:10:37

Hi,

I have Snort running on Ubuntu server with MYSQL package. After around 20 hours Snort is unable to write to MYSQL. The error once i cancel the Snort process is 'MSYQL server has gone away'. Anyone else know why this occurs?

a temporary solution to this might be restarting MYSQL then Snort through a cron job ever 18ish hours.

thanks,

On Fedora 5, they put out an update that caused that problem for me. I just moved back to the previous version to solve mine. You may want to look around on the mysql site for more ideas.
