MySQL problem

I have installed Snort 2.4.3 on my machine using the tar.gz file but its not working with MySQL! I tried the ./Configure script with --with-msql! but it doesnt work! it keeps saying the build is not supported! What the possible problem could be!
One more question is how can i remove the installed snort completely from my system!

Hoping for some help!
