Installing on Fedora Core....Problems
Posted by brandbrand on May 10, 2006 05:31:31
Hello,
I am trying to install the most recent version of snort on Fedora Core 5 and I go through all the steps that are laid out in the install document I recieved on this site, however when I install snort it does nothing... What do I mean? Well I issue the following:
./configure --with-mysql
make
make install
and it does not creat the snort.conf or anything else it seems to install fine with no errors however I go to proceed to the next step of the install and there is no files I need...etc. I have tried to different versions of snort both with no success? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Additional Information:
I go to start the service just to see if it will and I get "No such file or directory". I try to find my snort.conf to start some modifications and its no where to be found, when I do a whereis snort.conf I get /etc/snort which is where is should be but no such luck when I go to find it....any help? |
