SNORT starting problem

I am using fedora core-4 and whenever i try to start snort 2.4.3, it fails to start. |

what is the error logged to syslog? |

Osuit, as suggested by brevizniak check the logs, I am also running on Fedora core 4 and had the same problem. The logs are very detailed and you will be able to spot where the mistake is immediatly as well as where it is failing.
If you are still having problems post the section from the log where snort is failing and we will have a look.

The log you are looking for is "/var/log/messages" |
