Ipv6 And Snort

Posted by rbajwa on October 27, 2006 07:11:21

I have a couple of questions that I would really like to get some answers to :

What capabilities does SNORT have to detect and indicate IPv6 security breaches?

-Can SNORT look down a chain of IPv6 extension headers, and can it see into the packet contents on IPv6 data packets?

-Does snort have any known IPv6 attack signatures?

-See if you can find an upgrade roadmap for SNORT and IPv6 – if they don’t have a good IPv6 capability, when will the SNORT team be integrating IPv6 IDS capabilities?

What about the GUI that you can use with SNORT? Is one ready for IPv6 formats?

-Do they have documentation or papers on IPv6 SNORT?

this has been posted for some time now with no response yet. Does anyone have an update on this?
