Plz help me out ASAP

Hi Guys,
I am working on my masters project and I am looking forward to make GUI for Snort. I think I would require a snort API for it, I got this idea from this paper.(www.poly.asu.edu/ctas/dcst/ Projects/pdf/ChristopherEvans.pdf) So if you can see in this paper the author has created a GUI in java I want to create a similar GUI in C#. PLease tell me the appropriate API that I would need as I can't find anything on the internet and I am still new to snort.
