snort Cut the connection ?

If I start Snort from console, it works !!!!

but i have no connection in my computer

snort Cut the connection ?

snort -v -A full

i have : snort 2.2.0 Winpac V2.3 in windoz XP SP2

why Winpac 2.3 ?
because i had a prubleme whith Winpac 3.2 , Err : packet.dll)

(i have no a good english because im a francophone ;-) )

Hi fadex,
You mean to say that your network connection was severed when snort started listening on the Interface of your machine?
It sounds like you installed the Alpha build of WinPcap, which I see from their web site is available.

It might be a good idea to install the latest version of WinPcap, but remember to reboot after uninstalling the previous version, before installing the latest version.

I've had snort latest version working on the XP SP2 with WinPcap 3.1, so I know it works okay.
Perhaps you could give some specifications of your NICs, that might give some clues. Have you also looked in the Event viewer to see if there were any errors at the time of the Network connection going down?
