Not sure if snort is working or not.

Hi,

Got snort working with winpcap 3.0 on XP pro. I finally have it configured to where i am not getting I am not getting errors anymore. The weird thing is I don't get any packet information. I just get system info and that seems to be about it. How can I test this to see if it is really sniff'n dem packets?

Sm00sh,
Run the snort executable from the command line, Default is C:\snort\bin\snort.exe with the -v -i switches. the -v will show you the packets and the -i will include the interface. use 0, 1 or 2 until you see packets. then you will now snort works, then you will need to tweek your IDSCenter a little more.
