Distributed NIDS

Hello, I'm looking for a good, up-to-date guide for setting up Snort in a distributed environment, preferably on SuSE Linux version 9.2. I'd like to set up some sensors and a separate management station. Most of the guides to be found on the web, while very good, are pretty outdated.
